Pricing:
Prices in GTA/PROVEX Rate/Zone Chart are for basic car (small four door sedan) service and include 1 piece up to 25 lbs.
Weight/pieces beyond 1 piece/25 lbs. is charged at $0.10 per pound and $1.50 per piece.
Surcharge may apply for bulk or oversize freight. Check PROVEX Service Levels for more details.
Extra charges for larger vehicles are as follows:
Mini-Van $15.00 Cargo (full-size) Van $20.00 Cube Van $30.00
Additional Charges:
Wait Time – $30.00/hr. with a minimum of 15 minutes. An elimination period of the first 10 minutes of waiting will be free. Thereafter, wait time will be charged in 15 minutes increments. Hence, 10 – 15 mins = $7.50, 15 – 30 mins = $15, 30 – 45 mins = $22.50, 45 – 60 mins = $30
Credit Card Calls – $5.00 surcharge applies.
C.O.D. – Overnight charge/service applicable from pickup point back to customer’s location, unless requested otherwise. For great distances/Out Of Town, C.O.D. returns will be ½ the price on a basic Out Of Town call.
Dead Run/Call GTA – When shipment is unavailable for pickup, or access to shipper is blocked, whichever is greater: ½ the price of the call, or Car $12.00, Mini-Van $17.00, Cargo/Cube Van $25.00 charges shall apply.
Dead Run Out Of Town – When shipment is unavailable for pickup, or access to shipper is blocked, full rate applies when pickup is Out Of Town.
Re-Direct – Applies upon customer’s request to re-direct shipment.
Dangerous Goods -$10.00 surcharge for goods within the parameters of ‘Limited Quantities’ under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations within Ontario.
Dolly/Cart – $10.00 surcharge when required. i.e. when delivery/pick-up is made Inside a shopping mall or far points in a building/complex.
Fuel Surcharge – On all calls. Rates are less than most major courier companies in the GTA.
HST – On all calls.
Services Levels:
Estimated delivery times (EDT) set out below are for consignments, sent and received, within the zones on PROVEX Rate/Zone Chart, and within the time frames, barring lengthy traffic congestions and unforeseen conditions. For Out Of Town destinations kindly ask for estimated time of arrival (ETA). EDTs are based on time order was placed.
Emergency: Pick up and delivered directly to destination. No stoppage in delivery. Usually within 1 hour in the GTA. Order placed no later than 4.00 p.m. if shipment has to be delivered before 5.00 p.m. same day.
Express: Within 90 minutes. Order placed no later than 3.30 p.m.
Rush: Within 2.5 hours. Order placed no later than 2.30 p.m.
4 HR: Within 4 hours. Order placed no later than 1.00 p.m.
Sameday: Before 5.00 p.m. the same day. Order placed no later than 11.30 a.m
Overnight: Order must be ready and called in before 3.00 p.m. Delivery will be made before 5.00 p.m. the next business day.
Note: There will be 30 minutes or more tolerance on all service levels if there are unforeseen/unavoidable/unusual circumstances during the delivery.
Note: Loads which require the majority of vehicle room, as determined by PROVEX, will be placed on an Express service.
Out Of Town Service:
Deliveries/pick-ups to and from cities/towns/RR (Rural Route) locations outside of PROVEX Zone Chart (GTA) are available on an Out Of Town Express service and may take longer than 90 minutes depending on distance.
Distance is calculated by Google Maps for the fastest route taken, at $1.25 per kilometer for cars and at $1.55/km for cargo/cube vans, one way. Additional charges are applicable.
Return Trips on same Out Of Town Service will be ½ the price on initial distance charged plus ½ price on additional charges (if required) when the use of same vehicle completed both trips.
After Hours/Weekend/Holiday Service:
Deliveries during evenings and nights (5.00 p.m. – 8.00 a.m.) or weekend hours are charged at 1 ½ times the Express rate, with a minimum charge of $75.00. Holiday (statutory) service is charged at 2 times the Express rate, with a minimum charge of $100.00.
Deliveries To Government Offices/Buildings:
Deliveries for the same day to Government Offices/Buildings/Warehouses will be not less than a 4 HR service, should not be expected to be completed beyond 4.00PM and adequate provisions must be given to deliver before a 4PM cut-off time.
Undeliverable Shipment:
For shipments sent to an incorrect/incomplete address, to an address where the consignee has moved, or to a consignee who is not present at delivery location before delivery deadline and/or during time frame, customer will be notified, full charges will apply and a re-direct/re-delivery charge will be added on customer’s request to redeliver or redirect shipment. If shipment is undeliverable because access to consignee’s location is blocked by construction/emergency situations and/or authorities such as Police/Ambulance/Fire/Security, then the above procedure will be followed.
For shipments PROVEX cannot deliver at the end of a business day, PROVEX will endeavor to re-deliver next business day.
Packaging:
All freight (pallets/crates/boxes/bins/envelopes etc.) must be properly packaged and labelled with the proper consignee’s address, including special applicable tags (i.e. fragile, keep cool, this way up etc.). PROVEX assumes no liability for loss, damage, or delay to shipment due to improper packaging.
Extreme Weather Conditions:
In extreme weather conditions such as snow/ice storms, only express service will be available and attempted on that day. All other services will be attempted on the following business day.
Limits Of Liability:
PROVEX shall not be liable for any loss, damage, destruction or unreasonable delays arising from the following causes:-
1) Acts of God.
2) The King’s or public enemies.
3) Riots.
4) Strikes.
5) Authority of law.
6) Defect or inherent vice in the goods shipped.
7) Act or default of the shipper or owner of the goods.
8) Nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination.
9) Road closings.
10) Traffic congestion.
Notice Of Loss Or Damage:
Any damage must be noted on the Bill of Lading/Waybill or called in to dispatch at the time of the delivery, otherwise consignee’s signature will constitute a clear receipt/acceptance. Any notice of concealed damage must be given to PROVEX within 24 hours after delivery. Notice of loss or damage must be given to the carrier within twenty-four (24) hours after such loss or damage becomes known, and in writing within ten (10) days after the shipment is accepted by the carrier.
NOTE: No liability for loss or damage will be accepted by the carrier, unless written notice of such loss or damage is received within ten (10) days after acceptance of the shipment by the carrier.
Delay:
Unless the parties agree otherwise in writing, the carrier (PROVEX) shall not be liable for any special, consequential or other damages caused by mere delay in the delivery of a shipment, regardless of the cause of such delay.
Declared Value Of Shipments/Maximum Liability:
Additional charges of 2% of the higher Declared Value (maximum of $5000.00) shall be paid to the carrier if the shipper/customer wishes to obtain Declared Value protection in excess of $5000.00 per shipment. The maximum Declared Value for a shipment is $5000.00, in which case the carrier’s maximum liability will be $5000.00. The acceptance for carriage by the carrier of any shipments bearing a Declared Value in excess of these amounts does not constitute a waiver of this provision.
Invoices And Payment Terms:
Minimum invoice amount is $25.00. Payments for occasional shipments costing less than $25.00 shall be by cash or company’s cheque on delivery, or can be via credit card at the time of placing the order. Customers with an account are given 15 days to pay their invoices (Net 15). Interest at 2% per month will accrue after 15 days if invoice is not paid.
